Come join the Ohio Sierra Club Chapter for a 250 year weekend celebration at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Our schedule of events will include biking, hiking, paddling and service event options.

Come join the Ohio Sierra Club Chapter for a 250 year weekend celebration at Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP). Our schedule of events will include:
- Friday September 25
- 1:00 pm – 4:00. 28-mile bike ride on the Ohio-Erie trail which runs through the park. Meet at Lock 29 parking lot.
- 1:00 pm – 4:00. Conservancy for CVNP Adopt-a-Trail clean up on Tree Farm Trail (3-mile section). For more information see here.
- 5:00 pm - ? Gather at the Winking Lizard for dinner, 1516 Main St., Peninsula OH
- Saturday September 26 – National Public Lands Day
- 10:00 am – 1:00. 5.1 mile hike Kendall Lake and Ledges area, meet at Kendall Lake trailhead 1000 Truxell Road, Peninsula, OH
- 2:00 or 3:00 pm. Paddling with Cuyahoga Valley Adventures, kayak provided, to clean up litter on the Cuyahoga River. Exact time TBD. Separate registration required, instructions here.
- 1:00 pm – 3:30. CVNP National Public Lands Day habitat restoration event. Separate registration required here.
- 6:00 pm – 8:00. Sierra Club sponsored meet and greet at Hilltop Shelter, Cascade Valley Metro Park, 1061 Cuyahoga St, Akron OH. Heavy appetizers.
- Sunday September 27
- 8:00 am – 9:00. Breakfast at Fishers, 1607 Main St., Peninsula OH
- 9:15 am - 9:45. Park Ranger talk on the history of CVNP, May Barn 6974 Riverview Rd., Peninsula OH
- 10:00 am – 12:00. 3 mile hike on Blue Hens trail, meet at Boston Visitors Center 6974 Riverview Rd., Peninsula OH
We will bring Sierra Club members together from all over the state as we celebrate our National Park and its long history of land and water preservation. To strengthen our connections with environmental advocates in the region, we are inviting other community environmental groups to join us for the activities.
This event will help us Celebrate America's Natural Legacy, Connect Conservation to Community and Civic Leadership, Clean and Protect Our Public Lands, and Strengthen and build relationships with the goal of enjoying and protecting Ohio’s only National Park. We hope you can join us for all or part of the weekend.
