Loxahatchee Group: Wellington Environmental Preserve — Early Fall Discovery Walk

Join us for a relaxed interpretive morning walk through Wellington Environmental Preserve as we see what early fall has brought to the wetlands. Well look for seasonal blooms and the pollinators they attract, listen for birds in the trees and marsh, and keep our eyes open for the unexpected because every visit to Wellington seems to tell a different story.

Instead of Walden, we have Wellington — a place where wetlands, quiet trails, and seasonal surprises invite us to slow down and notice what’s alive around us.

Join us for a relaxed interpretive morning walk through Wellington Environmental Preserve as we see what early fall has brought to the wetlands. We’ll look for seasonal blooms and the pollinators they attract, listen for birds in the trees and marsh, and keep our eyes open for the unexpected — because every visit to Wellington seems to tell a different story.

Along the way, we’ll pause to explore some of the relationships that connect this landscape: flowers and pollinators, plants and wildlife, and the sights and sounds that can tell us what is happening in the preserve if we slow down long enough to notice them.

This approximately 2-mile walk follows flat paved trails and boardwalks, with frequent stops for observation and discussion. The pace will be easy and unhurried.

All experience levels are welcome.

Let’s see what Wellington has waiting for us this time.
