LTC SEMINAR Fall 2026
The Angeles Chapter Leadership Training Seminar is geared towards outings leader candidates at all levels and those wishing to refresh their Outings Leadership Training (OLT). Even if your focus is Conservation or Political Action, or you are from another Chapter, we think you'll have interesting things to learn. For this hybrid training (all virtual), you'll need to be a Sierra Club member in order to access the online e-learning component. Contact organizer with questions.

2026 Fall Outings Leadership (OLT) Seminar
Sunday, October 25, 2026 sponsored by Angeles Chapter Leadership Training Committee (LTC)
Learn about Sierra Club values, conservation, group management, trip planning and a First Aid overview, followed by our legendary scenarios. Because there's an online e-learning component and homework, register enough in advance as space is limited. We also welcome aspiring leaders from other chapters. Come learn all about the best leadership practices of our outings program.
REGISTER FOR THIS SEMINAR VIA CAMPFIRE EVENTS ONLY

> Priority given to wait list from prior seminars AND to first time candidates. .

- Location: Your home and ours, via Zoom
- Online e-learning approx 3-5 hours on your own time, ahead of the Seminar. You must be a Sierra Club member or prospective member to access this training. Let us know if you need help with this step.
- Our Seminar: Approx. 4+ hour seminar (8:45 am - approx.1:00 pm)
- Cost: usually $15. But this one is FREE TO EVERYONE.

AFTER YOU REGISTER: PREPARATION FOR THE SEMINAR:
- Reading: Textbook - The 2022 Leader's Reference Book (LRB), 2022 Edition. Download and Learn about the LRB.
- Reading: the Affirmative Standards of Conduct and the Equal Opportunity Policy (EOP) which includes policies on discrimination, harassment, bullying and uncivil behavior . (See our LRB page for these documents.)
- To do: Add your information on our Candidate Information Form (CIF). Lnk to the Fall 2026 Candidate Info form will be available soon.
- To do: The online OLT accessed via Campfire Learning. Instructions will be sent on how to access.
- To do: A Trip Planning / Safety Management (SMP) workshop. You'll receive materials in advance and they will be discussed during the session. Not graded. SMPs are a very useful tool for planning for any emergency and are required for all provisionals as well as outings defined as "backcountry."
- NEW! EOP (Equal Opportunity Training) modules. Required before candidates do their provisional outing

Signup Instructions: Register online. Space is limited. You will only receive materials closer to the seminar date and must complete everything to get credit..
Signup Restrictions: There is pre-seminar homework and an online OLT course to be done in advance so please sign up at least two weeks before in order to receive materials and instructions.
