Join us for a morning hike at Oak Canyon in San Diego’s own Mission Trails Regional Park! This is a social paced 3.3-mile out and back hike with minimal elevation gain. It should take about 2-3 hours to complete. Our path will follow the San Diego river and a rocky canyon stream, but it is unlikely to see water this time of year. The trail has rocky and sandy stretches, so wear comfortable and supportive shoes. There will be some shade for portions of the hike, but it will likely get quite warm, so bring 2 liters of water and protective gear such as sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
We will discuss and practice leave no trace principles on our hike.
After registering, a trip leader will reach out to review trip expectations, answer questions, and ensure this hike fits your outdoor goals and experience level.
Level: Easy (4 mi 300ft elevation gain)
Cost: free
