Join Sierra Club Michigan Chapter, Copper Country Trout Unlimited, and Keweenaw Youth for Climate Action on Saturday, September 12th from 6:00-7:30pm at the Orpheum Theater in Hancock, MI for a night of education, community-building, and action.
The Roadless Rule has protected millions of acres of wild public lands for 25 years—but now, it’s at risk of being repealed. The draft Environmental Impact Statement, the next step in the repeal process, was released on August 18, 2026, beginning the next 30-day opportunity for public comment. We’re inviting attendees to learn about the land this rule protects in Michigan, watch a new short documentary about the Roadless Rule and what we stand to lose if it's repealed, and write a comment to the Forest Service on a provided postcard. We will have comment guidance available at the event and will submit all comments before the submission period ends on 9/21/26.
This event is for everyone who loves public lands: hikers, climbers, hunters, paddlers, wildlife lovers, and more. Now is the time to tell the USDA to leave Roadless areas alone!
