Volunteers prepare to canvass
We will be walking door to door to tell voters why we are endorsing Nabeela Syed, Maria Peterson, Ted Mason (for Cook County voters), and Mary Mesa (for Lake County voters). One person talking to another person is the most impactful campaign work, so please join in!

Nabeela Syed is trying to unseat Darby Hills in Illinois Senate district 26, in the southwest corner of Lake County and the northwest corner of Cook County. Nabeela is currently a state rep, a seat she won with our endorsement. Nabeela has consistently voted for the environment.

Maria Peterson is trying to unseat Marty McLaughlin in Illinois House district 52. Maria is a longtime Sierra Club member and activist and a strong advocate for the environment.

Ted Mason is running for an open seat in Cook County Board district 15, in the western part of the county. Ted is chief of staff to the current commissioner, Kevin Morrison. Ted is a longtime Sierra Club member with real passion for the environment. He has organized Morrison's environmental fair every year.

Mary Mesa is running for an open seat in Lake County Board district 17 in the western part of the county. Mary has an exceptional hands-on conservation track record. She spent over six years leading a volunteer team to restore a 32-acre forest preserve at Lake Barrington Shores, focusing on invasive buckthorn removal and trail restoration. The environment more broadly is at the core of her reasons for running for this office.

We will receive instructions before we set out. No experience needed!
