Here in the Northwest, the Roadless Rule defends millions of acres of mature and old growth forests from logging and mining. It keeps our communities safe by preventing actions which would exacerbate the wildfire crisis, protects the clean drinking water that many of us rely on, and provides the habitat crucial for many species, including salmon. If you like to hike, bike, fish, hunt, or backcountry ski, you’ve likely been in many Roadless areas, although because they’re unmarked, you may never have noticed.
Have you been hearing people talking about Roadless lately but aren’t entirely sure what it means or what’s at risk? Or have you already submitted your comment, and are looking for ways to do more to defend these precious areas? Either way, this webinar aims to give you a great foundation on what Roadless is, specifics on how it affects us in the Northwest, and concrete ways for you to join in as we work to defend the Roadless Rule.
Speakers from the Sierra Club, the Pacific Northwest Forest Climate Alliance, Save Our Wild Salmon, and more will provide context on the rule and the threat it’s currently under, before we transition into a session helping you draft your own comment or letter to the editor. Join us in pushing back, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win your own Roadless t-shirt!
