Come and visit a truly unique trail feature in this stone fire tower!  We will take time to stroll around on the wooden decks as well seen below:


The viewing deck has a lovely view of the surrounding forests and roadless areas and should be in fall color which is an added attraction!

This is the third hike in a series of hikes into the Virginia Roadless Areas.  Come with us into the Skidmore Fork Roadless Area for a three-mile round-trip hike up to a stone fire tower.

Meet in the parking area at 9 am.  Check the weather for temperature before you leave your house to be sure you have proper layers for the hike.

Participants must register and complete the medical form by Thursday, October 22.  Any rain will cancel the hike.

Please come prepared with water, snacks, good hiking shoes, trekking poles, first aid kit.  
 

Level: Moderate (Strenuous)

Signup Instructions: Participants must register and complete the medical form. I will email you to confirm your participation two days prior to the hike.

Recommended Items: Snacks, water, sturdy hiking shoes, and trekking poles.

Signup Restrictions: Adults 18 and over
