Join us on October 24 for a hands-on morning of giving back to two local pollinator gardens in honor of South Carolina Native Plant Week (October 19–25, 2026). We’ll spend the day weeding, tidying, and helping maintain these community gardens so that native plants can continue providing valuable habitat and food for birds, butterflies, bees, and other beneficial plants. We will also be making seed balls to take home too and plants in your preferred location! Why native plants? Native flora are adapted to our local conditions and play an important role in supporting native wildlife, healthy ecosystems, and climate-resilient landscapes. By caring for these gardens, we’re helping create little pockets of habitat right here in our community. What we'll be doing:
• Weeding and removing invasive/unwanted plants
• General garden maintenance and tidying
• Helping native plants thrive and pollinators flourish
• Making seed balls What to bring:
• Gardening gloves
• Water/reusable water bottle
• Sun protection
• Comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for gardening
• Any favorite hand-weeding and trimming tools, such as loppers, if you have them. Shovels will be provided. No gardening expertise necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to get your hands dirty!
