Join us for a short, leisurely morning walk through Seacrest Scrub Natural Area, one of the remaining pieces of Florida scrub habitat in southern Palm Beach County.

We’ll slow down and see what this small natural area has to show us. We may find gopher tortoise burrows, tracks and other signs of wildlife, watch for fall birds and butterflies, and notice how the landscape changes as we move through different parts of the preserve. Sometimes the most interesting discoveries are the smallest ones—or simply what we notice when we take the time to look.

This will be an easy-paced hike of approximately 1.5 miles, with frequent stops to observe, listen and explore. The route includes paved and sandy trails, with some uneven surfaces and exposed roots. Portions of the walk are sunny.

There are no restrooms or drinking water at the natural area. Because parking is limited, registration is capped at four participants.

Level: Easy

Cost: Free

Recommended Items: Bring water, sun protection, insect repellent if desired, and comfortable walking shoes.

Additional Directions: Well meet at the informational kiosk.

Cancellation Policy: Heavy rain cancels
