An illustrated talk by Dr. James Shepherd, MD, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Internal Medicine (Infectious disease) at Yale University School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Hospital.
Description: Dr. James Shepherd uses humor and deep expertise to explain how maintaining biodiversity can reduce transmission of tick-borne disease. He is an infectious disease physician and professor at Yale University School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Hospital, where he teaches medical students about biodiversity loss and other global change that drives infectious disease. He speaks to audiences of all educational backgrounds to help them learn how to protect against the risks posed by the northward spread of ticks through our region. He does so on November 4 as we mark the occasion of world One Health Day, dedicated to the inter-dependence of human, wildlife and environmental health.
