Double Peak Hike: Discovery Lake to the Summit

Join us for a morning conditioning hike up Double Peak in San Marcos, starting and finishing at Discovery Lake. Most of the trail is well maintained, with a moderately rocky section near the top (an easier route is available if needed, at the trip leader’s discretion). Along the way, we will learn about the local geology, flora, and fauna, and at the summit we will take a break for snacks and soak in panoramic 360-degree views. On clear days, you can enjoy views stretching from the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island to the San Bernardino, San Jacinto, and Laguna Mountains, making it a great way to start your day.

Please pack 2 liters of water, snacks, sturdy closed-toe footwear, sunscreen, and a hat. The hike is limited to 10 participants, and no children, pets, or unregistered guests are allowed.
