It's time to show your support for a data center moratorium in Boise! Data center moratoriums are useful tools we have to halt data center development until cities and counties are able to put into place legal accountability measures that will protect our environment, water, energy resources, utility rates, wildlife, and communities.
Show up on Tuesday, November 10 (in-person or virtually) to show your support for a data center moratorium in Boise! We encourage you to consider giving a short 2-3 minute oral testimony at the hearing that could include:
- Thanking Mayor McLean for bringing this proposal forward
- Sharing your concerns about data center development in Idaho
- Encouraging the City to develop smart accountability policies in the coming months—in deep collaboration with the local community—that will require any future data center projects to:
- Cover 100% of their power costs
- Use 100% clean energy
- Pay 100% of their taxes
- Be 100% transparent on all public impacts
- Not pollute or dry up our precious water resources!
