Support Solar Siting in Sedgwick County

Solar for Sedgwick County (4).jpg

As a Sedgwick County resident, sign on to say YES to solar siting in our county!

Solar projects fund county roads, bridges, emergency services, and local schools.

Solar is the cheapest and most reliable energy, and it keeps our lights stay on if another power source fails.

Solar and storage projects like this one supplement farm income, which helps traditional farmers and ranchers survive without having to sell off their land. Landowners should be free to decide how they use their property, and free to choose leasing their land for solar and storage.

Solar and energy storage are safe, clean low-impact neighbors built with public health in mind. Structures can blend in with the local environment using native plantings, vegetative buffers, and pollinator habitat, encouraging biodiversity and letting the land rest. Solar and energy storage safeguard our precious water resources by using little to no water to operate and producing no water pollution.

Our county has done its due diligence on solar and storage. By passing a rigorous ordinance, Sedgwick County has set the rules of the road to ensure that this project will be developed responsibly to benefit our community.

Come testify with us at the August 5th Sedgwick County Commission hearing - see our calendar event for details.
